Our current varieties include:
Gala – the nations favourite.
Red Windsor – a smaller sweet red apple full of juice – perfect for children.
Herefordshire Russet – old style apple which is at its best from October.
Lord Lambourne – a traditional favourite
Meridian – a newer variety but proving to be a big hit, juicy and crunchy.
Sunset – unusual blush colour to the skin and flesh with a floral flavour.
Kidd’s Orange Red – our favourite – balanced tangy flavour with loads of crunch and juice – just as an apple should be.
In additional to cider fruit we also grow Bramleys and a small range of eating apples which this year we have made into apple juice. The juice will be stocked in our vending machine throughout the year, with apples from September to December.
We recently featured on the BBC’s Farmers Country Showdown, the programme followed us last autumn when we entered the apple competition at Three Counties Autumn Show, Malvern where we proudly won a first and second place with our Bramleys.
At the show each year we also have a stand in the Orchard Pavilion – call in and try some long forgotten varieties – full of flavour and fresh from the farm.
