Cobnuts are available from late August until October through our vending machine or from the farmhouse for larger quantities.
Cobnuts are a cultivated hazelnut, the main difference is them being much larger. Unlike most nuts, cobnuts are eaten fresh or ‘green’ when they have a lovely milky flavour and texture.
Best stored in the fridge they will last a number of weeks where they slowly dry into a more traditional nutty flavour.
They make the perfect snack for in front of the tv but be careful as they are highly addictive! As with hazelnuts they can be used in a host of recipes from soups to cakes – search the internet for some wonderful culinary delights.
More information can be found on the Kentish Cobnut Association website.
